How do I set up a Swarm?

In this article, we'll show how to quickly set up your Mercku M2 Swarm.

Mercku Swarm consists of 3 separate Mercku M2 Queens that can be meshed together for ultimate Wi-Fi coverage. The Mercku Swarm is pre-meshed for you - this means that your routers will connect to each other automatically - no setup needed! 

You will just need to quickly set up your network name (SSID) and password and enjoy your new WiFi. 

Follow these steps to set up your Gateway (Main) Router:

1. Set up your M2 router and connect to the Internet. Please refer to this article: How do I set up the M2 Queen as a router?
   1. Plug in the M2 (Queen).
   2. Connect one end of the provided ethernet cable to the M2's WAN port and the other end to the LAN port of your modem. After you connect the ethernet cable, a blue light underneath the M2 (Queen) on the WAN port side will light up, confirming a successful connection.

   3. Connect to the Open Mercku network: Mercku-XXXX

   4. Go to the Mercku App (available on iOS and Android), or the Mercku Web Portal and follow the on-screen, interactive instructions to set up your network SSID and passwo

a. Click on the “+” on the right top corner of the page.

b. Select the "Set up the gateway router of a new mesh network" option

 c. Select M2 Standalone Wi-Fi router. 

d. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions; wait for a minute while the server is looking for the router. 

e. Once the M2 appears, select your M2-XXXX (last 4 digits of your Serial Number) > click Next and wait for 1 minute until the your network is set up.

f. Now, go to your device's WiFi settting and connect to your newly created network!

Setting up M2 Queen Mesh Nodes

1. Place the other two M2 routers (mesh nodes) in suitable locations and power them on, then wait for the mesh nodes to connect automatically. Each M2 Queen router's indicator light will be green once the network is connected.
