Utilizing wired backhauling to connect multiple M6 nodes to an existing network switch or your gateway M6 is a great way to maximize your network speeds.
Before you set up an ethernet backhaul connection, make sure that you update the firmware on all your M6 devices. For more information, visit How do I complete an online upgrade for my mesh points?
- Set up your M6 gateway in router mode successfully. Please visit the setup guide How do I set up my M6?
- Once your gateway router is set up, mesh your M6 mesh node wirelessly by doing either the following:
- Press the "Connect" button at the back of the gateway M6, then press the "Connect" button at the back of the node M6, and wait for the two to pair.
- Following the instructions in the "Add a Node" function in the Mercku App or web portal.
- Press the "Connect" button at the back of the gateway M6, then press the "Connect" button at the back of the node M6, and wait for the two to pair.
- Once the M6 node has successfully meshed wirelessly, use an ethernet cable to connect the M6 node (WAN/LAN port) to the LAN port of the M6 or any available network switch or port. Now your system is good to go!
