Dynamic DNS (DDNS) is a service that updates a dynamic IP address to a fixed domain name. DDNS service enables you access your home computer from anywhere in the world. DDNS serves a similar purpose to the internet's Domain Name System (DNS) in that DDNS lets anyone hosting a web or FTP server advertise a public name to prospective users. Most broadband operators only provide dynamic IP addresses. DDNS can capture the IP address changed every time and then associates it with the domain name.
M2 and M6 provide a pass-through with the DDNS service by DynDNS and Oray. As a result, you will need to buy a DDNS service provided by these two operators and put down account information in DDNS segment.
The management route is the same on both the Mercku M2 and the Mercku M6.
You can access the DDNS configuration through the Mercku App or Portal.
Using the Mercku App:
- Open the Mercku App on your mobile device
- Settings > Advanced Settings > DDNS > Enable
Using the Mercku Portal:
- Visit http://mywifi.mercku.tech, and log in using your Router Admin Password
- Select Advanced Settings > DDNS
