How do I turn off my existing router’s Wi-Fi off?

Turning off the Wi-Fi on your existing wireless router or modem-router combo will improve the performance of your Mercku mesh network by reducing channel utilization. 

Instructions on how to turn off your existing router’s Wi-Fi signal varies by your internet service provider and/or modem/router manufacturer. Some routers and modem-router combos may have a physical switch to toggle Wi-Fi on/off but if not, please follow the general instructions below:

1. From a device that is not connected to your Mercku network, open a web browser and enter your router’s web interface (you can find this through your router or ISP’s webpage).
2. Log in with your username and password, or if you haven’t set this up use the default one provided by the manufacturer or check the back of your unit
3. From the web interface, look for wireless settings, and you should have the ability to turn the device's Wi-Fi signal off.
4. Once this change has been applied, the router will restart.
