It is a feature that enables Mercku mesh units to switch between the 2.4 GHz channel and the 5 GHz channel. When turned on, units will automatically connect to the 2.4 GHz channel, and when turned off, the units will connect to the 5 GHz channel.
The management route is the same on both the Mercku M2 and the Mercku M6.
Internet speeds are faster on the 5 GHz network than on the 2.4 GHz network. However, 5 GHz signal coverage will have a shorter range. As a result, if a node is far away from the main router there will be a weaker signal and potential connection loss on 5 GHz. Thus, if you need a stronger signal for a distant connection, it is recommended to turn this function on. If you only require fast internet speeds and your units are close to each other, it is better to keep it off.
To turn on this feature, please go to the Mercku App > Select Wi-Fi Points > Select Increase Mesh Coverage
Or visit mywifi.mercku.tech, and log in using your router admin password, on your dashboard you will see the toggle for Increase Mesh Coverage under the Mesh Topology section.
